Nicholas D. Cacchione, CFA is the Founder and Principal Analyst of Oil & Gas Financial Analytics, LLC and has more than 30 years of experience analyzing the financial performance, valuation, and strategic positioning of upstream oil and gas companies including nearly 20 years with John S. Herold Inc. and IHS, Inc (now S&P Global).
Mr. Cacchione, with over 30 years experience, specializes in the benchmarking and valuation of upstream oil and gas operations. His benchmarking expertise primarily relates to the areas of upstream capital spending, reserve replacement and finding and development costs, upstream profitability and cash allocation. He was the primary author of the Global Upstream Performance Review, an industry leading benchmarking publication.
Nick has a BBA in accounting and a MBA in finance both from Iona University and has also earned the Charted Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Tom Biracree has over 25 years’ experience in analyzing the upstream oil and gas industry. His expertise includes company strategic and financial analysis as well M&A deal and trend analysis. In addition, Tom has authored over 100 published books on a variety of topics.
Tom Biracree was Senior Principal Editor at John S. Herold, Inc., then IHS Inc., for fifteen years. He led the senior editorial team for IHS Energy Insight research and was responsible for structuring and content editing valuation and transaction research. Tom wrote the daily Herold Oil Headliner, a daily newsletter aimed at senior industry and financial executives. He also co-authored of the Global Upstream M&A Review and the Global Upstream Performance Review. For the past 10 years at Oil & Gas Financial Analytics, LLC, Tom has specialized in the analysis of upstream oil and gas company strategy as well as M&A deals and trends.
Tom has a BA from Hamilton College in English Literature.
